Teen Council

Who we are

Berkeley Rep’s Teen Council programming cultivates the next generation of theatre audiences and professionals, preparing them to think critically and creatively about theatre arts through engaging programming and training opportunities.

Teen Council is a group of 10–15 student leaders from around the Bay Area who engage their peers through theatre arts. Teen Council is responsible for planning and executing “Teen Night” programming to accompany shows in the Berkeley Rep season, hosting an original works showcase, organizing advocacy events, and conducting behind-the-scenes interviews with artists working at Berkeley Rep.

Members of Teen Council receive free admission to all our teen programs and shows, get exclusive access to professional artists, receive a transportation stipend to attend our events, and eat *a lot* of free pizza. A new group of students is accepted to be a part of this leadership group at the beginning of each school year.

Teen night

Teen Night, hosted by Berkeley Rep’s Teen Council, offers exciting opportunities for high schoolers across the Bay Area to see a Berkeley Rep show, meet other theatre-loving teens, and engage with theatre professionals during special pre-show programming.

Teen Night tickets are now available for Berkeley Rep's The Thing About Jellyfish on Friday, January 31. Teen Night tickets are $10, and must be reserved via the School of Theatre’s ticketing page. Tickets are only available to current high school students (grades 9–12) and include seats to the show, as well as a complimentary pre-show dinner and activities. Teen Night is an all-inclusive event and students attending the show must remain at the School of Theatre for all pre-show activities.
