Thank you!
We are truly grateful for the outstanding support of our community and your dedication to preserving Berkeley Rep. Because of the contributions of donors like you, our OVATION fundraising gala was an overwhelming success, and we were able to raise nearly $950,000 to help Berkeley Rep weather the uncertainty of this global crisis.
We would like to recognize all those that helped to make this event possible: from the extraordinary efforts of our OVATION Committee, the diligent work of our Board of Trustees, all of the many friends of the Theatre who stepped up to fundraise on behalf of Berkeley Rep, to the staff and volunteers working behind the scenes. We are also deeply honored that so many artists sent video submissions to express their appreciation of the role that Berkeley Rep has played in their artistic journey. We are humbled to see and hear how profoundly this organization has touched the lives of artists, audiences, and all who have at some time called this Theatre their artistic home.
We also wish to offer our deepest thanks to our OVATION honoree Anna Deavere Smith and to Marcus Shelby for joining us for an inspiring livestream event on Saturday, April 18, 2020. The livestream was a wonderful moment for our community to come together to celebrate the restorative role that art can play in moments of crisis and to find hope in what the artistic world might look like moving forward.
While this event was the culmination of our gala celebrations, our work in sustaining the Theatre is only just beginning. Our OVATION fundraising marked the launch of our Resilience Campaign which will be the driving force of our fundraising efforts over the next year. In the months to come, we will be relying on our community more than ever to help keep the theatre alive through this period of uncertainty. We are so grateful to have you as a part of that community.
Your generosity is what keeps us going and is the reason we’ll be ready to welcome you back into our spaces when this crisis is over. We can’t wait to invite you back to the theatre again.
