Other ways to give

Sustainer giving

Make giving easy

Become a Berkeley Rep Sustainer

Help sustain Berkeley Rep’s operations with an ongoing donation in support of the Annual Fund. Your gift will provide Berkeley Rep with a reliable source of ongoing financial support that helps us conserve our resources and devote them to the productions you enjoy each season. Plus, you’ll enjoy great donor perks all season long!

How it works

  • Commit to an automatic credit card donation paid in monthly installments, in the amount you choose. Your first installment will be charged upon receipt. Your Sustainer contributions continue uninterrupted as long as you wish. You may contact us at any time to make a change.
  • After your initial payment, your credit card will be automatically charged on the 15th of the month.
  • For tax purposes, you’ll receive an acknowledgment after your first payment, and you will be sent a tax statement each year.

Become a Sustainer today and your gift will ensure innovative theatre and arts education for your community for generations to come!

If you have any questions about making a Sustainer gift, contact Kelsey Scott at 510 647–2906 or email give@berkeleyrep.org.

Double the impact of your gift

Double the impact of your gift!

Many Bay Area companies offer a matching gift program for their employees which can double, or even triple, your initial contribution. These programs are set up to allow employees to choose how their employer should direct its charitable giving within the community. Often, retired employees, directors, and spouses are also eligible to participate in the program.

Having your gift matched is simple. Visit your human resources office to retrieve a matching gift form. Complete it, and send it along with your gift to Berkeley Rep. We will notify your company of your contribution, and you can begin enjoying the benefits of a higher level of giving.

Donor-advised fund

Support Berkeley Rep with a grant from your donor-advised fund. Recommend Berkeley Rep as the grant recipient and provide your name if you wish to be recognized as the grant advisor.

You can recommend your grant directly from our website using the DAF Direct form to the right if your donor-advised fund resides with Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, or BNY Mellon.

Please note: Grants cannot be used to pay existing pledges or for tickets to events. Berkeley Rep cannot provide more than incidental personal benefits to an individual who recommends a grant through a donor-advised fund.

For more information, read the guidelines for accepting donor-advised fund contributions created in collaboration with other Bay Area cultural organizations.

Stock gifts

Stock gifts

Gifts of stock, especially long-term appreciated stock, can be a tax-wise way for you to make a contribution to Berkeley Rep.

Transfers of stock may be made directly to our broker at Morgan Stanley. Instructions can be found on our Stock Instruction Form.

At the time of your gift, please either complete the online Stock Instruction Form or download the Stock Instruction Form and return it to Berkeley Rep’s Development Office by fax at 510 647–2910 or email at give@berkeleyrep.org. We need this information in order to correctly credit each donor when shares are transferred electronically. We cannot identify the donor from the transfer alone.

IRA charitable rollover

IRA charitable rollover

If you are 70½ or older, you can make a tax-free gift directly to Berkeley Rep or other qualified charities from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) that counts toward your Required Minimum Distribution, up to $100,000 per calendar year. It’s a tax-smart way to support audacious and thrilling theatre at Berkeley Rep.

The distribution must be made directly from your IRA to Berkeley Rep. Instruct your plan administrator to send a specific dollar amount directly to Berkeley Rep by check or electronic transfer.

Download a sample charitable distribution letter to send to your IRA plan administrator.

Prior to making any decisions about your distribution, consult with your financial, legal, or tax advisor to discuss the details of making a distribution, including the impact of your state’s tax laws.

If you have any questions or need further information to complete your gift, please contact Laura Fichtenberg at 510 647–2907 or email lfichtenberg@berkeleyrep.org.

Berkeley Rep’s federal tax ID number is 94-1679756.

Wish list for in-kind donations
